Our hats off to Susan and David Lewis and all the organizers for a great race with some very snazzy t-shirts and medals. The sky was blue, the temperature was just right, and despite a challenging, hilly course the Shore Things piled up milestones and personal bests at the KW Walking Classic 10K and very first half marathon.
Helen Battersby - Shore Things Walking Club
It was a great event and so well managed - Waterloo Town Square was the perfect venue.

What a wonderful job you did of arranging, organising and hosting the KW Walking Classic. We all enjoyed ourselves, the weather was perfect, and I did the first ever for me, under 9 minutes per kilometer. My only disappointment was not winning the poles which I put all my tickets into!......I hope you felt it went well also, and that you were pleased with the efforts of your team and the money you were able to raise. I'm glad also that you popped in to visit us in our pre-race party.

Wanda and her friends from WOW advised they will definitely be back again next year!

Yesterday, the racers and my kids and I didn't want to go home. Today, we are all still on the biggest high, not wanting to come down from it all.
This is all because of what you created. Your intricate planning, your love of the sport, your understanding of what racers and community look for in shirts/medals/after food (even gluten free)/speeches/prizes...all of it.
I have written my race write-up on the website under your race on the "races" tab....www.treadpowerfully.com We had amazing supporters at the race and have some wicked pictures as well, the ones that melt my heart are especially the ones of Jane winning the half-marathon.
At the food stall a man said to Jane, "You see these shoes on my feet, I have these because you walked the race today." We cried about that yesterday and I cry about it each time I say it again.
Facebook and email has been alive today in my group, my night class tonight was just a babble of race talk and this event has changed the lives of many in my group...from how they stuck to the training to the warmth they felt at the race yesterday. They were respected in their choice of movement and that meant a world of difference compared to other races.
This Saturday our regular classes are cancelled and we're doing a 11.5 km walk as a "Foodraiser" for our Partnership West Foodbank in Burlington. I know you believe the same, anything we do in life is because of our belief in the importance of community and giving.
Thank you Sue, Dave and the race committee for the countless hours and your presence at the race with those smiles and hugs...you were the face of the race,
Sue Able -Tread Powerfully
Congratulations on a spectacular event. I had a great time. I think you are going to be hard pressed to find improvements. I enjoyed the speaker who told his life events. Bravo to him. I got the point what all this is about.

It was a fantastic event. you have really done a wonderful job growing it into a premier race which is both competitive and super fun at the same time. One patron commented on Sunday that he had never seen so much spirit in one place before. Great job, please congratulate your whole team for me.
Tracy Suerich - Program Co-ordinator - Waterloo Public Square
It certainly looked like a great turnout! I know we had people from London and Sarnia and they had good things to say...

The race was amazing today. You guys are amazing. All the work you have done and smiling faces the whole time. I am getting lots of good feedback about the race.
