Thanks to all of you for helping to make our 2011 event such an overwhelming success. The public square was filled with celebrations: personal bests, team awards and noteable individual triumphs. Thanks to the Ontario Pre-Service Firefighter Program from Connestoga College our event will be much safer and more efficiently supported out on the race course this year. The students of the program have volunteered their time and expertise to be Race Marshals and to assist with set up on the Public Square this Sunday. Their support is greatly appreciated.

Our hats off to Susan and David Lewis and all the organizers for a great race with some very snazzy t-shirts and medals. The sky was blue, the temperature was just right, and despite a challenging, hilly course the Shore Things piled up milestones and personal bests at the KW Walking Classic 10K and very first half marathon.

Tread Powerfully® is a fitness organization, operating in Burlington, Ontario since January 2008, that provides cardiovascular and muscular conditioning for power walkers, runners, cyclists and other fitness enthusiasts.

I cannot say enough about what made this race so professional, safe, warm and encouraging:
- Volunteers at race kit pick-up were friendly, helpful and the whole process was a dream!
- Each racer was given four door prize tickets to place in the item they wanted to win - cool!
- There were separate half-marathon, 5K and 10K race shirts…
